#### *Hosted by: Hawkeye Chess Club*

'Game 960' enjoyed its 30th anniversary on June 19th, 2026 – so we’re taking a moment to celebrate with a tournament in honor of Bobby Fischer’s favorite chess variant! *Special rule for this event: positions will be shown only 5 minutes before each round.* For the sake of time, players will only play one color, just as they would in a regular chess tournament. Though there will certainly be competitive energy at each table, the goal is to enjoy the challenge.

What else can you expect:

- US Chess Ratings used for Pairings
- Unrated Fun/Casual Play Section
- 5 Rounds (Time Control G/15d2), starting at 7PM
- Boards and clocks provided

- Prizes
  The Joy of Chess
- Registration
  [Online](https://www.kingregistration.com/event/2026DIV960) (under Hawkeye Chess Club)
  Onsite -- Thursday, 6 - 7 pm
  Entry Fee: $5
